Cabbage Women

Ghanaian artist Attakora Yeboah captures the bustle and vibrancy of an African market in this acrylic-on-canvas study of five women presenting their wares in the open air. More than a simple snapshot of street life, the work suggests the complexities of modern Africa through such impressionistic details as the characters' featureless faces and ambiguous poses.
