Drummers

Ghanaian artist Nii Teiko Aryeetey presents a dynamic painting of three men playing drums of different styles. The traditionally-dressed men dance as they play, unable to resist the rhythms they create. The artist refers to his style of painting as 'Linenism'; the idea came to him from watching streaks of rain water as they were blown into slanted lines by the wind. In this composition, they seem to imply waves of sound projecting from the musicians' instruments.
