Mayan New Generation

By Jorge Lopez, this unique necklace depicts an ancient hieroglyph in jade. The Aj glyph represents new generations, according to the Maya. Two loops at the top depict tender plant shoots, and the vertical lines symbolize sugar cane and trees. The horizontal lines in the center represent the multiplication of furrows as well as the horizon. Its animal nahual connecting humans with deities is the armadillo. The bamboo pendant centers a black cotton cord that adjusts in length by sliding the knots along the cord.
