Mystic Mamfe Hunter in Moss

Ghanaian artist K. Baka reflects on rural African life, creating this wall hanging that depicts a mystic hunter from Kumbagu. With belly outstretched, the hunter sets forth with a spear, bow, and arrows that will protect him from wildlife. Baka creates this pleasing composition using the batik method, drawing the hunter on moss green cotton cloth with a wax resist, then applying yellow dye to the cloth.
