Known as Nwentom in the Ashanti language, kente cloth is brightly colored interwoven strips of cloth that together make vibrant patterns. Ghanaian artisan Hannah Dodoo uses this cloth in tandem with foam cushioning, nylon straps, and stainless steel zippers to make a laptop bag with vibrant design. Kente cloth originated in the Ashantiland Peninsula and was historically associated with royalty and worn only for extremely important occasions.
