Gila Woodpecker

A noisy desert dweller, the gila woodpecker enjoys mistletoe berries and cactus fruits in addition to insects. Mauricio Morales depicts the bird in a ceramic sculpture and carefully paints it by hand before protecting the colors with a coat of wax. The realistic figurine stands on wire legs and the feet can be wrapped around a perch or branch.
