Lion Totem

Ghana's Abdul Salami Amadu evokes the protective nature of the lion in the design of this beautiful decorative plate. Sese wood is used to create the plate, while hand-carving and hand-painting are employed to compose the nature-inspired motifs. The lion is caught mid-roar as it is surrounded by leafy elements of the forest.
